Who We Are
The GBPA is a coalition that includes residents, cottage associations, municipalities, environmental advocates, and local stakeholders that provides Ontarians a platform to advocate for an all-hands on deck approach to protecting Georgian Bay.
We’re asking all levels of government to prioritize local environmental advocacy goals including freshwater management, shoreline protection, and watershed regulation.
Georgian Bay’s History and Heritage
As a UNESCO-recognized biosphere, we need to continue to work to protect Georgian Bay’s unique geography and history. Georgian Bay is the largest freshwater archipelago in the world and was designated a UNESCO-recognized Biosphere in 2004 and has over 30,000 islands.
A vital geographic feature of Ontario, increasing conservation and preservation efforts is key to a brighter future for the region.
